Have a good meal :) :) :) :) :)

"There is never a sudden revelation, a complete and tidy explanation for why it happened, or why it ends, or why or who you are. You want one and I want one, but there isn’t one. It comes in bits and pieces, and you stitch them together wherever they fit, and when you are done you hold yourself up, and still there are holes and you are a rag doll, invented, imperfect. And yet you are all that you have, so you must be enough. There is no other way."

~Marya Hornbacher,

"For just one second, look at your life and see how wonderful it is. Stop looking for the next secret door that is going to lead you to your real life. Stop waiting. This is it: there’s nothing else. It’s here, and you’d better decide to enjoy it or you’re going to be miserable wherever you go, for the rest of your life, forever."

~Lev Grossman

New Light

I’ve been vacillating a lot in trying to determine the purpose of this blog. A divine heart told me today though that my blog helps to get him through his tough days. Those kind words were like a blanket of warmth providing a proximity to peace that has been absent in my life for quite some time and it also clarified so much more. Truth is I’m not the type to go venting on a blog about my problems, not that I’m implying that there’s anything wrong with the people that do, it’s just that that trait wasn’t etched onto my character at any point in my walk and I’m awake enough to notice. Hence this blog will be used for inspirational purposes only in an attempt to get you to experience the free that floats in the air around you, daily.

Have a Good Meal :) :) :)

Experience life in all possible ways —
good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light,
summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don’t be afraid of experience, because
the more experience you have, the more
mature you become.

"For things to reveal themselves to us, we need to be ready to abandon our views about them."
— Thich Nhat Hanh

"Although love could grow in times of peace, it tempered in battle. Daddy told me once - when I'd said something about how perfect his relationship with Mom was - that I should have seen the first five years of their marriage, that they'd fought like hellions, crashed into each other like two giant stones. That eventually they'd eroded each other into the perfect fit, become a single wall, nestled into each other's curves and hollows, her strengths chinking his weaknesses, her weaknesses reinforced by his strengths."

Have a good meal :) :)

"No one else has access to the world you carry around within yourself; you are its custodian and entrance. No one else can see the world the way you see it. No one else can feel your life the way you feel it. Thus it is impossible to ever compare two people because each stands on such different ground. When you compare yourself to others, you are inviting envy into your consciousness; it can be a dangerous and destructive guest."
  ~John O’Donohue

"It doesn’t matter how long we may have been stuck in a sense of our limitations. If we go into a darkened room and turn on the light, it doesn’t matter if the room has been dark for a day, a week, or ten thousand years - we turn on the light and it is illuminated. Once we control our capacity for love and happiness, the light has been turned on."
Sharon Salzberg

"I actually attack the concept of happiness. I don’t mind people being happy - but the idea that everything we do is part of the pursuit of happiness seems to me a really dangerous idea and has led to a contemporary disease in Western society, which is fear of sadness. Wholeness is what we ought to be striving for and part of that is sadness, disappointment, frustration, failure; all of those things which make us who we are. Happiness and victory and fulfillment are nice little things that also happen to us, but they don’t teach us much. Everyone says we grow through pain and then as soon as they experience pain they say “Quick! Move on! Cheer up!” I’d like just for a year to have a moratorium on the word “happiness” and to replace it with the word “wholeness”. Ask yourself “is this contributing to my wholeness?” and if you’re having a bad day, it is."

Have a good meal :)

Almost crumbling to the ground, she stopped. Looking at how far she had traveled and all it had taken to get there, she recognized her strength. The strengths she had inside of her, the strength she had gained along the way ~ her inner power. And so, she stood up. standing tall, she faced forward and continued on.

There are only so many times that you can utter ‘It does not hurt’ before it begins to hurt even more than the hurt. You become enlightened of the feeling of feeling hurt, which is worse, I am certain, than the existent hurt.

Day 34

I’ve heard the whisper of divinity through the hearts of the road side dwellers,
Seen a twinkling hope in their eyes
And a strength rooted in the descendants of Daniel

I see beauty in their resistance to normality and apathy.
Passing, I can smell the pain that painted their skins brown;
But the hearts of the lions and lionesses sound louder than any cry for mercy.
So I have smiled at their ability to smile
While sitting in a tub of the most turbulent tides

Out stretched hands often mistaken for that of a beggar.
Little do the ignorant ones know that,
They’re simply asking
Asking for what they deserve
Thrown out of their thrones by cheaters
Whores and sluts who are STILL stealing and usurping more
They’re simply asking for what they deserve
A dollar cannot suffice.

They’re simply asking.

Steal the eyes of an eagle
See the colours elucidate
Let the consuming chorus of the wind concretize reality
Build a canoe out of words and float away
Letting the breath of a vagrant fill your lungs
Make a home in the hearts of savages
Allow sheer sound to shout at your soul
Fate faith into your being
And feel the vibes…

Dear Daddy,
I’m sorry I disappointed you with my words
I’m sorry they summed up to nothing more than nothing at all
Honestly,
Most days these days I’m too tired of or for the hypocrisy
Don’t want to sink in my own skin anymore

Don’t want my self to feel like forbidden treasure
“Never forget your dreams baby” you used to say
Reverently
Solemnly
Truth is Daddy, I never knew any dreams but yours
No passions but yours
Trust, I know you meant no harm
But I was born into this world unarmed and, each year, the continuation of the sciences seemed to saw my soul away
And I said nothing

I saw the sparkle in your eyes
Each time I took brisk blind baby steps towards your field of gold
Golden promises made and struggled to be kept
“Only the strong shall conquer” I've read
I wasn’t conquering
Reading was my only consolation
Lately I have not been conquering
I’m so sorry Daddy

My dream is to walk on worn down roads
Feet bare on the earth
Among the vagabonds and vagrants
I’ll let the rhythm of my breath be in sync with theirs
Dance on road side stages under a sky of unconstrained stars
Beat the African drums with a heart strong enough to drum evil away
Get people to see the beauty flowing in the bloodline of ghettos
I want to train Trinidadians into the brilliance of being
And to teach them what is slavery
I wish to reside, vibe-ing with the vagrants and the vagabonds
Vibe-ing
Writing the most divine love story with our lives

Feel the Free vol.20

But don’t forget who you really are. And I’m not talking about your so-called real name. All names are made up by someone else, even the one your parents gave you. You know who you really are. When you’re alone at night, looking up at the stars, or maybe lying in your bed in total darkness, you know that nameless person inside you…Your muscles will toughen. So will your heart and soul. That’s necessary for survival. But don’t lose touch with that person deep inside you, or else you won’t really have survived at all.
~Louis Sachar

The Guest House by Rumi

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

"I’d imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured, if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn’t be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason."

Feel the Free vol.14

“I believe in going with the flow. I don’t believe in fighting against the flow. You ride on your river and you go with the tides and the flow. But it has to be your river, not someone else’s. Everyone has their own river, and you don’t need to swim, float, sail on their’s, but you need to be in your own river and you need to go with it. And I don’t believe in fighting the wind. You go and you fly with your wind. Let everyone else catch their own gusts of wind and let them fly with their own gusts of wind, and you go and you fly with yours.”
― C. JoyBell C.

Day 25

I want to build a sandcastle out of words
Meticulously let mountains of syllables slide into each other
Then let the wind strew my words into the sea
Allow the currents to carry them wherever an ear might listen
I want to teach redemption songs to corpses
Rustle their heart beats with trombone phrases
Let the dead learn choruses of life
Make them choirs of sun kissed tides
I want to revive the breath of hope that you stopped breathing a long time ago
Sailing along, I’ll make my shoulder into a boat for you
Both your heart and you may rest there
I’ll teach you how to let your thoughts twinkle
Turn them into north stars
Let them lead the way to Bethlehem
I want to teach you how to sink your fingerprints into your soul
Sculpt pictures of beauty with a heart
Translate the vibe to purity
Tell you how to fall into silence broken and battered and walk out repaired
I want to teach you how to silence your fears
Take a bucket of your dreams with a heart full of hope and carelessly throw them onto a canvas
I wish to tell you never to use words but to improve upon silence
Erect your convictions
Let the weight of persecution only make them stronger
No fuss,
No flight
Keep your bones steady

Most of you care, just not enough. Sadly.

"Mulmillo closes the eyes of her two-year-old son Mahmud moments after he died from malnutrition and related complications at a local hospital in Mogadishu on Aug. 15. Mulmillo, her husband and three children fled their village in the Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia and came to Mogadishu in search of a refuge from severe drought in the region."

Can you define a church?

I remember when this place felt like the warmest blanket.

Not anymore though, i've learned to build my own haven amongst a hell

Feel the Free vol.13

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
