08.01.12

Nothingness weighs heavy on tired shoulders
Where battles have left fragments of their existence
Existing forever in jaded bodies
Persons passing by extend hands of mercy to the frail ones
But there mercy is misinterpreted
So they're forced away while trying to make a way
And their hands are pulled back reluctantly and up to their face
In an attempt to dry all their tears away
And the nothingness still remains

Aching hearts continue to ache
And sorrows are swallowed
Tears of blood are wiped insignificant with fears of not surviving
And the strong act stronger than they really are
When afflictions are holding on tightly to languished lungs
And breaths of promise can barely get through
To provide dying bodies with the life that they need
And these grave battles impede
The strong act stronger than they really are

When they’re immersed into destruction and are left to learn beauty on their own
And owning anything isn’t an option when the hungry yet full people
Will willingly and rightfully but not righteously steal everything from you and call it their own
So the strong are left on their own
To begin to create something that they can call their own
Only for someone to steal from them again and call it their own

When they’re brainwashed into seeing goodness that is non-existent
Into thinking simply that servitude is acceptable
When they’re starved of love
And are forced to work on perfidy plantations
When education has been wrongfully relegated
And darkness is the only light they know
When physical strength is forced into their muscles with whips of instruction
The strong are forced to act stronger than they really are

…. To be continued
