Feel the Free vol.10

Be silent, open your hearts and minds and experience the peace that silence brings.

Whether or not you are aware of it, feel it or believe it your mind is being open to a new perspective that will facilitate growth. Many of us feel we are free but so often we are imprisoned by the negative emotions of fear, jealousy, anger and hatred. We have been schooled to protect our outer self while our inner being is dying – so we dress-up in the latest fashions, paint our faces, wear the most deceptive smile and falsify to create an outer image that everything is alright while inside there is turmoil and pain. This troubled state can be more discernable in some of us than others; however, our dark emotions only serve to contaminate us, our very beings, which we should try to heal. Be aware that beneath the “everything is fine” exterior, there maybe a malignant fungus of confusion and misery eating away at your Soul.

True healing is from the inside out and not the outside in. The more materialistic assets we acquire without the realisation of our ‘Selves’ the more we become a prisoner of the material world. And, our emotional and Spiritual well-being becomes fettered.

We have all been tailored from the same cloth, maybe different shades and shapes but the same fabric. Personal growth is not only synonymous with chronological age, but also with one’s awareness, consciousness and open-mindedness, and our ability to live our lives along those paths. And, the truth of the matter is none of this is really new, we already know everything being presented to us we are actually being guided in remembering what was planted in our Souls longer ago.

No matter what our religious belief or Spiritual teaching maybe we are all taught that there is a God or Supreme Being. We are told that this force resides within our ‘Self’ and exist in a higher plane. The essence of this being is the unification of your inner ‘Self’ with your higher ‘Self’. When these two entities are polarized or have been separated, torn apart, the gap allows negative energy such as hate, envy, jealousy, low self-esteem and greed to intercede and come to occupy the space.

Everything you say and do is a reflection of what goes on within. If you think hate and jealousy your actions and feelings will exhibit those qualities, if you think ‘Love’ you will display ‘Love’, if you feel lonely you tend to live a life of emptiness and alienation. We often spend time comparing ourselves with the standards set by others, rarely finding time to reflect upon ourselves. We must start to examine our lives and create our own standards, only then can we realise our true potential.

The famous poet William Blake once wrote, “How can the bird that is born for joy sit in a cage and sing?” In turn, I now ask, “How can we that are born to grow encase ourselves in a box of negativity and still breathe?”

We live in a world in which we are exposed to a multi- religious, multi-ethnic culture – we must therefore close the gap and escape the mental, physical and emotional baggage that we maybe carrying so that we can truly make our world a wonderful and harmonious place to spend the day, the week, the month, the year – in fact our entire human existence. Thus, we must do everything in our power to harmonize ourselves with the rhythm of pure and constructive emotions love, compassion, humility, charity, confidence and bliss.

So let us close the gap and become closer to understanding ourselves as Spiritual beings and to appreciating the importance of developing good qualities within us for only then can we truly make this world a home!
